Dig and grade
We mark your pool and spa on the lawn, dig them out and haul the dirt away. A laser sets the grade from the sun shelf down to the deep end.
Steel and plumbing
A rebar grid on chairs lines every wall and the floor. Drains, returns and the skimmer are plumbed and trenched to the equipment pad.
Gunite
Our nozzleman sprays concrete over the steel and the crew trowels it into one solid, curved shell with a bond beam on top.
Tile and coping
Waterline tile goes around the top of the wall, then coping stones cap the edge all the way around.
Deck and equipment
Pavers or a concrete deck go down around the pool. The pump, filter and heater are set on their pad and wired up with the pool lights.
Plaster
The finish coat goes on in the color you pick. Plaster is what gives your pool its color, not the water.
Fill and start-up
We fill the pool and spa, start up the equipment and balance the water. Then we walk you through pool school and it's ready to swim.
Every step, in order.
1Excavation
Our trackhoe digs to the approved layout and elevation. Mark sprinkler lines, invisible fences and anything else underground before dig day so we can plan around it.
2Steel
A rebar cage is tied to the shape of your pool. It's the skeleton the concrete bonds to.
3Bond inspection
The steel is bonded and inspected before any concrete goes in.
4Gunite
Concrete is sprayed onto the steel and shaped by hand into one solid shell. The nozzleman's skill is what makes a good shell.
5Plumbing and gas
Drains, returns, skimmers and any gas lines for heaters are run and pressure-tested.
6Electrical rough-in
Lighting and equipment circuits are roughed in and inspected.
7Pre-grade and deck bond
The ground around the pool is graded and bonded for the deck.
8Tile and coping
Waterline tile and the coping that frames the edge go on.
9Equipment set
Pump, filter and any heater or automation are set on their pad and connected.
10Decking
Pavers, travertine or concrete, pitched so water runs away from the pool.
11Final electrical
Everything is wired, tested and inspected.
12Final clean
The site is cleaned up and the shell is prepped.
13Plaster prep
The shell surface is prepared so the finish bonds.
14Plaster
The finish coat, in the color you pick. Plaster is what gives your pool its color.
15Fill
We fill the pool. New plaster needs brushing at least twice a day at first, and we show you how.
16Start-up and pool school
We start the equipment, balance the water and teach you how to run it.
17Final inspection
The final inspection closes out the job.
